Redwood Toxicology Lab Changes Oxycodone Confirmation Method
Dear Redwood Customer:
Effective February 15th, 2010, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will start testing for urine Oxycodone using the industry's most advanced, most sensitive and specific analytical method, Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).
With the LC/MS/MS technique, we will be offering a lower confirmation cut-off level of 50 ng/mL, and upon request, be able to confirm Oxymorphone (Opana).
Specificity of LC/MS/MS can be attributed to the fact that it separates the parent mass of the analyte and further breaks it down into fragments that are specific to the analyte, known as multiple reaction monitoring (MRM), ensuring that the peak is the analyte we seek, and that background interference is minimal.
