03/07/16

Oral fluid test method change.
Beginning March 7th 2016, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will update the confirmation test method for methadone in oral fluid tests to utilize liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The cutoff level will remain unchanged at 10 ng/mL.

01/26/16

Oral fluid test method and reporting changes.
Throughout February 2016, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will update the confirmation methods of opiates and cocaine in oral fluid tests to utilize liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Oxymorphone will also be detected in the opiates panel. Finally, barbiturates will be screened by enzyme immunoassay (EIA).

Test method and reporting changes.
Multiple urine test options will now be confirmed by LC-MS/MS; multiple drugs/metabolites will now be reported quantitatively.

Failure to do so may create "problematic specimens" that result in additional support effort on our end—preventing our technicians from sending you timely test results.

Tramadol and Venlafaxine test method change.
RTL will change the urine confirmation method for Tramadol and Venlafaxine to liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Additionally, Venlafaxine is available as a stand-alone test option.

Only use supplies provided by RTL.
When sending specimens for testing, it is important to use the packaging materials provided by Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL). Failure to utilize the packaging materials provided by RTL may result in your specimens being rejected by FedEx or excluded from testing at the laboratory.

9/26/14

Positive speicmen retention change
Effective October 1, 2014, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will no longer store previously tested positive specimens for six (6) months. All positive urine and oral fluid specimens will now be stored for a period of three (3) months.

Tryciclic antidepressants urine method change.
Dextromethorphan (DXM) testing now available.

Effective September 22, 2014, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) will confirm tricyclic antidepressants in urine using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Additionally, RTL now provides clients the ability to detect the use of DXM.

Cocaine urine test method change.
Effective June 9, 2014, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will confirm benzoylecgonine (cocaine metabolite) in urine using liquid chromatography/ tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).

TLC/RIA testing methods to be discontinued.
Beginning May 23th 2014, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) will phase out thin layer chromatography (TLC) and radioimmunoassay (RIA) test methods.

FedEx® has changed Clinical Pak requirements.
FedEx® requirements for shipping specimens to a laboratory have changed. FedEx no longer requires the use of an outer cardboard container when shipping urine or oral fluid specimens. Eliminating the use of a box will save you time, resources, and storage space in collection areas.

Comprehensive urine screening method change.
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will change the screening method for its comprehensive prescription drug test to utilize liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).

Synthetic Cannabinoid Panels updated
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory's urine and oral fluid synthetic cannabinoid drug tests expanded to include 12 new compounds; including 3 next-generation drugs not yet banned.

Effective February 25, 2013, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will start confirmation testing of urine buprenorphine using liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).

Oral fluid benzodiazepine service update
Effective November 19, 2012, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will conduct benzodiazepine testing via LC/MS/MS technology and expand the test to cover a total of 12 common benzodiazepine drugs.

Designer stimulant (P80) panel expanded
Effective May 14, 2012, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will expand the designer stimulant urine test panel (P80) to include 7 newer generation drugs.

Designer stimulant (P81) screening method changed
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory has updated the screening method of the designer stimulant panel (P81) to utilize LC/MS/MS.

Saliva synthetic cannabinoid panel updated
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory has updated the synthetic cannabinoid oral fluid test to inlcude 4 new synthetic cannabinoid compunds. Additionally, quantitiative results will report at 0.25ng/mL.
