Oral fluid benzodiazepine test expansion and method change 11/19/12
Testing now conducted via highly sensitive LC/MS/MS technology and expanded to cover a total of 12 common benzodiazepine drugs.
advanced analytical method, Liquid Chromatography-Tandem mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).
All presumptive positive results will be confirmed by this highly sensitive and specific analytical method allowing for very low level detection of benzodiazepines in oral fluid. In addition to improving test methodology, the test menu will be expanded to cover a total of 12 benzodiazepine drugs: Alprazolam, Chlordiazepoxide, Clonazepam, Diazepam, Flunitrazepam, Flurazepam, Lorazepam, Miazolam, Nordiazepam, Oxazepam, Temazepam and Triazolam. The cutoff for all 12 drugs will be 0.5 ng/mL which is lower than the previous confirmation method (GC/MS)
Quantitative toxicology result reports will now feature these drugs and indicate LC/MS/MS as the test procedure.
